Stephanie Mulholland
Pediatric speech-language pathologist · Naperville, Illinois

Stephanie is a pediatric speech-language pathologist and private practice owner in Naperville, Illinois. She provides neuroaffirming support for children and families and serves on billing and reimbursement committees in Illinois, advocating for access to care and the future of the professions.

She is also a professor who teaches and supervises graduate clinicians. Her work brings together clinical practice, mentorship and advocacy.

I love this profession, and I care deeply about what our work makes possible for children and families. That commitment shapes how I practice, teach, mentor, and advocate.

As a pediatric speech-language pathologist and practice owner, I see how decisions about reimbursement and healthcare policy reach directly into the therapy room. When clinical expertise is undervalued, sustaining services becomes harder—and families feel the consequences. Advocating for our profession is part of advocating for the people who need us.

My communication style is warm, direct, and intentional. I’ve worked hard to learn how to ask difficult questions, challenge assumptions, and speak clearly about issues that deserve attention. I bring curiosity and a willingness to reconsider, alongside a strong commitment to protecting the value of skilled care.

SLPoutLOUD brings those parts of me together: the clinician who loves the work, the educator who wants others to feel capable, and the business owner who understands that meaningful care needs a sustainable foundation. I want to help our professions become better informed, more connected, and more confident using our voices.
